Egypt And Syria Fall

February 7, 2013

One year ago, in January of 2012, Syria’s Bashar Al Assad proclaimed that if Israel or Western Allies ever interfered in Syria’s internal conflicts and affairs, then he would bomb Tel Aviv.  Six months ago, Egypt was being turned over to the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia Law under Mohammed Morsi,  and the clerics were declaring: “Our Capital Shall Be Jerusalem.”

Jeremiah 49:27 – “I will set fire to the walls of Damascus, and it will completely burn the strong cities of King Ben-Hadad.”

Israel has apparently struck a research center on the outskirts of the Syrian capital with their warplanes.  Ali Abdul Karim Ali  says that Syria could take “a surprise decision to respond to the aggression of the Israeli warplanes,” thus placing Tel Aviv at risk.  Israel has reportedly attacked an arms convoy along the Syria-Lebanon border which was carrying SA-17 missiles and other weapons.  Israeli Air Force planes also struck an arms depot at Jamaraya near Damascus. Russian and Syria both condemned the attack.  The Israeli navy has also intercepted a ship containing advanced weaponry destined for Lebanon, apparently about  three weeks ago.  The ship flew a Qatari flag and was registered to a Qatari company, and contained advanced weapons, including anti-aircraft missiles.

At the same time Israel has been busy within Syrian borders, opposition activists have engaged in heavy fighting in Damascus and have attacked Assad’s forces in the eastern Syria near Palmyra, causing dozens of casualties.  Damascus, in particular, has become a battleground.

Ezekiel 30:8 –“And they will know that I am the LORD, when I set a fire in Egypt and all her helpers are broken’.”

Egypt has once again exploded into political violence.  Residents of the cities of Port Said and Suez are burying their dead as citizens vent their fury at Egypt’s Islamist president and the Muslim Brotherhood.  They are demanding that Morsi be ousted and are declaring a revolt against his rule. Egypt may collapse under the weight of its turmoil, says one military leader.

The conflict in Syria has Morsi worried.  In September he offered Tehran a deal including the restoration of full diplomatic ties with Egypt to end its support for Assad.  Ahmadinejad, spending three days with Morsi, has countered this offer with an invitation for Egypt to  join Syria, Hezbollah and a nuclear Iran for an unbeatable coalition to “solve the Palestinian question” and wipe Israel off the map.

Ezekiel 37:10 – “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.”

Israel is quickly becoming one of the foremost military powers in the world today.  In January, Israeli forces deployed two Iron Dome batteries in northern Israel.  As of this week, they have installed a third Iron Dome battery in the Krayot area.  Other batteries have already been installed in the Galilee region, Haifa, and other locations.  All of these Iron Dome batteries have been upgraded to give the Iron Dome improved capabilities against a wide range of threats.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu may be reaching the end of his tolerance for Hezbollah.  He has called on the international community to recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.  Meanwhile, Israel continues to find additional oil supplies that rival Saudi Arabia.  They may well become the energy king of the Middle East, and there won’t be much that its neighboring Muslim nations can do about it.

Zechariah 12:2-3And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Ahmadinejad continues to call Israel a dirty microbe and a savage animal, promising that Israel will soon disappear in a flash.  Morsi expects Israel to be eliminated and Jerusalem to become the capital of a newly established caliphate.  Hezbollah claims Israel’s disappearance after their next war is an established fact. But guess what, both Egypt and Syria are falling apart. Damascus is all but a heap of ruins.  Lebanon is not immune to the conflict.  Both Russia and Iran are upset by these developments and have vowed to retaliate now that Israel is beginning to fight back and defend itself.  Israel’s neighbors are being cut in pieces while Israel is quickly becoming that exceedingly great army.

Prophecy continues to unfold as foretold by the Hebrew prophets. The stage is being set. Each day is one day closer to our Lord’s return.  Yeshua Ha’Mashiach is coming soon.  Get busy reaching the lost.
