Dividing the Land of Israel

May 7, 2011

One of the major prophecies to specifically watch for is the division of the land (See Joel 3:1-2 below). Palestinian diplomats, politicians, and others are threatening to unilaterally declare that Palestine will become the 193rd member state in the United Nations this September within the pre-1967 borders. Efforts to force Israel into accepting a two nation solution will not only be unsuccessful, they will directly incur God’s wrath (See Psalm 83 below). Any nation that comes against Israel will be cut to pieces (See Zechariah 12:2-3 below). Also see the previous blog: /2011/01/31/god-will-glorify-his-name-before-the-nations-israel-will-stand-alone/

Palestinian statehood, and the division of the Land of Israel, is just one of the steps in the continuing narrative of prophecies being fulfilled before our very eyes. At some point in the near future, many nations will unite and try to utterly destroy Israel and the Jews. God has allowed Satan and others numerous attempts to do so in history, none of which have been ultimately successful – the Jews still live, and always will, because God has promised that they will never be totally destroyed: “For I am with you, says the LORD, to save you; though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a complete end of you” (Jeremiah 30:11), and only if all of the laws governing the universe can be nullified will Israel cease to exist (Jeremiah 31:35-37).

In fact, God gave Abraham and his descendants all the land from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates, which includes the modern nations of Saudi Arabia, Omen, Yemen, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, and several other nations within the Middle East Region (See Genesis 15:18-21). Note that these nations are the ones that are currently seeing demonstrations demanding the removal of the current regimes. Also note that once these regimes and their dictators are removed, there will no longer be anyone in power who personally witnessed Israel’s success during the previous wars when these nations rose against Israel in its first few days and decades. The young people demonstrating today don’t remember or know this!

Prophecy continues to unfold before our very eyes. God will Glorify His name before the nations. Israel will stand alone. Israel will remain. One can only ask: “How close are we to the return of Christ?”

Scripture Noted Above but not Quoted:
Joel 3:1-2 –
1“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.
Psalm 83 –
1 God, do not keep quiet; God, do not be silent or still.
2 Your enemies are making noises; those who hate you are getting ready to attack.
3 They are making secret plans against your people; they plot against those you love.
4 They say, “Come, let’s destroy them as a nation. Then no one will ever remember the name ‘Israel.’”
5 They are united in their plan. These have made an agreement against you:
6 the families of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
7 the people of Byblos, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, and Tyre.
8 Even Assyria has joined them to help Ammon and Moab, the descendants of Lot.Selah
9 God, do to them what you did to Midian, what you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.
10 They died at Endor, and their bodies rotted on the ground.
11 Do to their important leaders what you did to Oreb and Zeeb. Do to their princes what you did to Zebah and Zalmunna.
12 They said, “Let’s take for ourselves the pasturelands that belong to God.”
13 My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff blown away by the wind.
14 Be like a fire that burns a forest or like flames that blaze through the hills.
15 Chase them with your storm, and frighten them with your wind.
16 Cover them with shame. Then people will look for you, LORD.
17 Make them afraid and ashamed forever. Disgrace them and destroy them.
18 Then they will know that you are the LORD, that only you are God Most High over all the earth.

Zechariah 12:2-3 –
2Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Genesis 15:18 –
18In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
19The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

Jeremiah 31:35-37–
35Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
