Signs in the Sun Moon and Stars

March 12, 2011

And God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years” .’ - Genesis 1:14

The Rabbis teach that when a major comet appears in the sky a major war will break out within four years.  For example, in 66AD Halley’s Comet was seen over Jerusalem and in 70AD the temple was destroyed.  In 1910 Halley’s Comet was seen and in 1914 World War I began.  In 1988 Halley’s Comet was seen and in 1992 the Gulf War took place.

“When the Son of Man comes, it will be like what happened during Noah’s time . . .” – Matthew 24:37-44.

Scripture tells us that the return of Jesus will be a time that is similar in nature to the time of Noah  The peak year for visibility of the Hale-Bopp comet was 1998.  The last time this comet was visible was during the time of Noah.  The Hale-Bopp comet was first noticed traveling through the constellation of Sagittarius.  From there it traveled through Perseus, then Taurus, then Orion.  Each of these passings allude to a connection with the antichrist.  For a full exposition of this, read Perry Stone’s book: Unlocking the Secrets in the Second Coming Scrolls (www.voe.org).

“And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. … And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.” (Revelation 14:14-16).

The constellation known as Bootes, or “The Coming One,” shows a man with a sickle coming to reap a harvest, and, according to some, is a heavenly sign predicting the return of Jesus to Earth.
●  NASA says the afterglow of a March 19, 2008 gamma ray burst in the Bootes constellation is the most intrinsically bright object ever observed by humans in the universe.
●  It shattered the record for the most distant object that could be seen with the naked eye.  “It was a whopper,” said Neil Gehrels of the Goddard Space Flight Center. “This blows away every gamma ray burst we’ve seen so far.”
●  NASA said the afterglow “was 2.5 million times more luminous than the most luminous supernova ever recorded, making it the most intrinsically bright object ever observed by humans in the universe.”
●  The sheer brilliance of the event led some Christian analysts to suggest it was an indicator that Jesus would come back soon.

Another sign in the heavens has been seen.  It may or not be a comet, but it is described as a flying X-pattern with trailing streamers, a flying cross, or perhaps a Star of David.

The end of the age is nearing, the season of Christ’s return is near.  Without doubt, we will begin to see even more signs in the sun, moon, and stars that are unusual and perhaps a bit scary as that day approaches.  One can only ask: “How close are we to the return of Christ?”

  2. Hi Prof. J.

Yes indeed, the signs are showing in the skies. And one thing I’ve noticed is that regular everyday folks that have telescopes, enjoy it as a hobby, etc., are seeing some amazing things. So we don’t have to just rely on “Scientists” or professionals. And with all our technology, they are capturing images and sharing them. The signs are here right now! And I too can’t help but to ask, is Jesus at the door, turning the knob about to open it? I sure hope SO!!!!!!!

    Great post and links!

    Blessings!
